With the help of their industry partners, BRAUMS and ATC achieved record growth during 2019 with a multitude of successful projects.
Newcastle, Sydney City and Sydney Metro light Rail projects a success
BRAUMS and ATC played a key role in the delivery of all traffic signalling, pedestrian detection, UPS’ and advanced SCATS® VC6 controllers for the Sydney and Newcastle light rail projects and also supplied most of the traffic signalling control technology required for the Sydney Metro line.
New industry partnership with AddInsight
Having recently signed an agreement with DPTI to distribute the AddInsight Traffic Intelligence System globally, BRAUMS demonstrated its use alongside ATC’s advanced traffic signal controllers and SCATS® at the 2019 ITS World Congress in Singapore.
Roll-out of data collection devices and illuminated regulatory signage
BRAUMS rolled-out several new products in 2019 including the BRAUMS Intelligent Outstation (BIO) and Illuminated Regulatory Signage range. The BIO has numerous applications, from street-lighting Control to Co-Operative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) and Vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) applications.
Another Australian first
BRAUMS recently completed Australia and New Zealand’s first safer, more reliable, ELV, Dim-By-Wire (DBW) Signal Lantern and Signal Controller installations. Now having proved the success and superior reliability of their world leading DBW technology across NSW, Victoria, ACT and New Zealand, both they are now delivering the technology as a standard product.
Growth in Mexico
2019 saw more growth for ATC in Mexico with a number of new Controllers, communication equipment installed and on-street training provided. ATC’s success in Mexico has continued to grow, expanding to two major cities in 2019.
Variable message signs
By the end of 2019, BRAUMS had proudly delivered around 200 World leading Swarco Futurit variable message signs (VMS) across Australia and New Zealand and also gained RMS Type Approval for Type-A variable message signs – only vendor in the world with formal type approval. Their most recent VMS roll-out being 14 variable message signs for the South Australia Northern Connector project. With several more VMS projects secured, 2020 is predicted to be even bigger.
Implementing parking guidance solutions
During 2019, BRAUMS installed multiple real-time carpark occupancy and traffic management systems in NSW, Victoria and Queensland. Ongoing progress was made in the Gold Coast City Council real-time parking management system – the largest of its kind in Australia.
